Tiara's Medical Fund

My name is Tiara White, and I will be 19 years old this month. I had my first seizure at ten months old, and I began taking medication at the age of five.  When I was five years old, the doctors who were treating me at the time discovered that I have scar tissue on the right side of my brain. They were unsure whether or not this was something that I was born with, or if it was the result of a febrile seizure that I had several years prior.  Over the years, I have had several trials with my seizures being controlled with medication. I have been on several different medications, and finally, the doctors found one that kept me seizure-free for the most part. Back in June, 2017, I had a seizure for the first time in years. That seizure was the first of many for several weeks. After seeing my Neurologist at Jonhn's Hopkins, and having my medication increased, we discussed surgery. The surgery is a method called laser ablation, and it is beleived that this surgery could cure me from Epilepsy, and even improve my memory. As a result of my recent seizure activity, I have had to surrender my driver's license, and cease driving. This was very difficult to do. I have always been very independent, and driving was something that made me feel independent. When I was younger I played basketball, participated in martial arts, did competetive cheerleading, and ran track. I have never allowed my diagnosis to limit me from anything, and I refuse to begin now.
                                                                Last fall I went away to school (Morgan State University), where I began to pursue my dream of becoming a Hospitality Management major. I completed the entire year away from home. This year I have elected to continue my studies, however, given the current state of my health and upcoming surgery, I will take classes online to continue my education.
                                                                    As you can imagine, between upcoming medical expenses and schooling, I anticipate a lot of debt. Just the admission into the hospital for one of the many tests that I need is $750. Any help that I could receive to offset my expenses would be greatly appreciated. I am looking forward to having this  surgery, and moving on with my life to become the successful young woman that I have always wanted to become.
