Ibrahim's dream: finish hish school

Donation protected

17 yr old Ibrahim from Kampala Uganda has realized his three year dream to return to his Zana  Christian High School to complete his studies thanks to his amazing GoFundMe supporters and friends! You can see his humble thank s and his joy in his smile to "study, study, studay". HIs friend and teaching assistant Rone who makes an appearance in the video traveled the distance to visit Ibrahim for this update and to talk to his mother over video chat who remains in the outlying ghetto with his six younger brothers who live a great distance from his school. Please see the update for details of his first week back at school that YOU all made possible! THANK YOU!

Ibrahim who always puts others needs before his own is now investigating how he can return to Zana Christian High School where he only was able to complete one term 3 years ago because of family finacial situation after his father abandoned the family.

Ibrahim went to the school Thursday December 30, 2021 inquire what fees and requirements were needed to allow him to realize his dream to return to his school to finish high school.

He learned his GoFundMe donations are short $90.00 of the $190.00 fees needed to return to Zana Christian High School. He would be allowed to start in term 2 as he completed term 1 before he was forced to leave due to family finances. He also learned Uganda's schools start January 10, 2021! We discussed the $90.00 financial shortage and Ibrahim confidently stated: "God will provide". So we are asking you to pray with us that if it is God's will for Ibrahim to return to school January 10, 2022 to guide him in obtaining financing to continue his education.

He is returning to teaching his brothers and neighborhood children in the new year as his knee and shin deep scrapesare healing nicely after the Hit and Run motorcycle accident in the Mubende District village almost two weeks ago. Despite the accident he moved forward with the planned Christmas celebration for the poverty sticken village children and their parents. He has a heart for teaching his students with the help of his teaching assistants, Rone and Brian. He continues to believe this also is  God's plan for him to improve Ugandan youth's lives with education. Thank you! We now look to God to see what changes 2022 will bring to Ibrahim's continued teaching.

We would like to introduce you to Bukenya Ibrahim. [In Ugandathe last name goes first]. We met this remarkable young man through a Facebook appeal he posted and we have vetted his authenticity over 6 months of communications and interactions. Here are some of his own words:

“Hello everyone I greet you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, let me hope everyone is doing well and I am by the names of Bukenya Ibrahim, a Ugandan and I do appreciate everyone who has been with me towards the contribution of the life style of some children within my community like in terms of getting studying materials in terms of story books, Pencils , crayon colours (shading colours) and support of food for some families of these children.” “I really do thank God that He sent some good friends from American in order tocontinue teaching my brothers and other children in my community. I humbly request anyone who would like to help me and the children in my community to continue studying with them really lack some requirements to teach the children.” “May the almighty God keep you with an endless smile on your face. May God bless everyone who will participate in this work”

We have made some small donations and have been messaging him and praying with him daily for months. Ibrahim sent us a video of the children singing the ABC song and photos of him teaching groups of children. Soon came photos of him caring for an older, very sick man in his tiny room. Ibrahim learned the man had been abandoned by his family, so this young man with the big heart stepped up, cleaning him, caring and praying at his bedside. Unfortunately, “Papa” died while Ibrahim wept at his side, but the special teenager resolved then to become a doctor, hoping someday to teach his community to heal themselves.

Ibrahim used to go to school but a few years ago his father abandoned his mother, siblings, and himself, so Ibrahim had to leave school. He longs to return, in order to better teach his pupils so some of the money we were able to send went to teaching materials and books. We know this is a sincere and caring young man and we have come to love him deeply. We are so impressed with how Ibrahim nurtures his family and neighbors. We feel someday he will go on to help his entire, Kampala, Uganda community.

We have watched Ibrahim struggle and succeed at teaching his students for the past six months. He is a natural teacher and healer, and we believe God has placed him in his community to ease the devastating poverty that attends his young life.

We thank you for whatever donations or suggestions you may contribute and PLEASE SHARE THIS FUNDRAISER!
