Teenage Cancer Trust Ward - BRISTOL

We are Amy & Andrew (Arthur’s mum & dad)…

On Friday 16 June our world was turned upside down when our son Arthur - fresh from just finishing his GCSE’s was rushed straight to hospital where a few days later we were told he had Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia. This of course came has a massive shock to all of the family and since his diagnosis our lives have become very different.

Since his diagnosis Arthur has spent 37 days in hospital so far on the amazing Teenage Cancer Trust ward which is part of the Haematology & Oncology Centre at the Bristol Royal Infirmary. It goes without saying but the entire staff here are absolutely superb and have looked after Arthur alongside all the other patients with amazing care, kindness and professionalism; Our NHS is just brilliant!

We would like the money we raise to go directly back to the TCT ward here in Bristol where it can be used to buy treats, games, days out - whatever the amazing staff think of and to make the young adults stay in hospital a little more bearable.

Only very recently Arthur noticed his hair was starting to fall out due to his treatment so he asked to have his head shaved - his also wanted his dad to shave his hair too so we could ‘be the same’! Alongside Andrew shaving his hair with Arthur, Arthur’s girlfriend’s dad also took part with other family members ‘shaving #ForArthur ’ too.
