Tegene Birke Funeral and Family Help

On the 24th of January, we lost our dear brother, Tegene Birke, at the age of 56 in the city of Richmond, VA, where he resided, after being shot multiple times in front of his apartment by unknown fugitives while returning home from work.

As most of us know, Tegene is a humble man who is kind and loving. Despite of the hardship he faced throughout his life, it didn’t stop him from supporting his elderly mother and sister residing in Ethiopia. In this unforeseen predicament, we are truly grieved by the loss of our brother. Though we can’t take back what happened, we can show our love and empathy by supporting Tegene’s elderly mother and sister whom he supported until his passing and lessen the trauma that the news carries.

The loss of a loved one is always sorrowful but losing a loved one in this gruesome manner is heartbreaking. Our condolences to all the family and friends of Tegene. May he Rest in Peace.

በ ጃንዋሪ 24 ማክሰኞ ቀን 2023 በድንገተኛ ሞት የተለየን ወንድማችን ተገኔ ብርቄ ትውልደ ኢትዮጵያዊ የሃምሳ ስድስት ዓመት ጎልማሳ በሪችመንድ ከተማ በቨርጂንያ ስቴት ነዋሪ ነበር።

ተገኔ በሕይቱ ብዙ ችግሮችን ተቋቁሞ ራሱንና በሀገር ቤት ያሉትን ቤተሰቦቹን ሲያስተዳድር የኖረ ተወዳጅ ወንድማችን ነበር፣ በጃንዋሪ 24 ቀን ማክሰኞ ከመሥሪያ ቤቱ ተመልሶ ወደ መኖሪያ ቤቱ እየገባ በነበረበት ጊዜ፣ ባልታወቁ ግለሰቦች በድንገት በተከፈተበት የተኩስ ጥቃት ቆሰሎ ሕይወቱ ለሕልፈት በቅቷል።

በሪችመንድና በአቅራቢያው ያለን በምንወድደውና በምናከብረው ታታሪ፣ ቅንና እግዚአብሔርን የሚፈራ ሰውንም የሚወድና የሚያመከብር ወንድማችን ተገኔ ብርቄ ድንገተኛ ሞት እጅግ ደንግጠናል፣ እጅግም አዝነናል።

የወንድማችንን ሕይወት መመለስ ባንችልም፣ የቀብር ሥነሥረዓቱን ለማስፈፀም እየተረባረብን እንገኛለን። በሀገር ቤት የቀሩትን ቤተሰቦቹን በተለይም በእድሜ የገፉ እናቱንና እኅቱን በደረሰባቸው ድንገተኛ ሃዘን የሚደርስባቸውን ጉዳት ለመቀነስ፣ እነሱን በመርዳትና በመደገፍ ለወንድማችን ተገኔ ያለንን ፍቅር በተግባር እንድንገልጽ፣ እግዚአብሔር በረዳን መጠን ሁላችንም እንደየ አቅማችን ቤተሰቡን ለመርዳት እጃችንን እንድንዘረጋ በሪችመንድ ቨርጅንያ ከተማ ያለን ሀበሾች በአንድነት በእግዚአብሔር ስም እንጠይቃለን።
