TEKLE TESFAZGHI GEBREMUSSIE

It is with a heavy heart that we share the sudden passing of our brother, father, husband, and friend Tekle Gebremussie on Friday, January 6, 2023.

Tekle was a beloved member of our Charlotte community. As the owner of Red Sea Eritrean & Ethiopian Restaurant, he and his family have spent the last 22 years creating a space for gathering, belonging, and nourishment for both long-time Charlotte residents and those passing by. He’s best remembered for having a generous heart and a tireless work ethic in support of his loved ones. He is survived by his wife, Netsanet, and three children, Hermella, Yafet, and Meruon.

This was an unexpected loss for the family. Any support provided would be greatly appreciated.
