Tell Me Where It Hurts – New Show Raising Awareness for PMDD
Donation protected
Hi!
We are passionate about creating theatre that sparks conversation, challenges perceptions, and supports vital causes. Our latest project, Tell Me Where It Hurts, is a new show working alongside the UK’s only PMDD charity, The PMDD Project, to shed light on this underrepresented condition and the broader themes of women’s health, education, and the challenges young girls face growing up.
Our Journey So Far…
Tell Me Where It Hurts has been developed through several new writing nights at esteemed venues, including Marylebone Theatre, Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch, Drayton Arms Theatre, and Libra Café. With additional support from Masterclass script sessions. The show has received fantastic audience feedback, affirming its importance and impact.
Further development will take place in April this year, thanks to the invaluable backing of Watford Council and The PMDD Project, allowing us to present a rehearsed reading to engage with audiences and refine the piece further.
Our Previous Work…
Our previous project, Fluff, tackled themes of memory and the choices we make in life. It worked alongside Herts Musical Memories and The Alzheimer’s Society, raising awareness and funds for these vital charities. Fluff successfully toured the UK, won multiple awards, and was published as a playtext, demonstrating our commitment to impactful and accessible theatre.
Accessibility & Inclusivity…
We are dedicated to making theatre accessible for all. Tell Me Where It Hurts will offer touch tours and ensure good accessibility for all audience members, so everyone can experience and engage with the production.
Why We Need Your Help…
We love the work we create and are committed to making a difference. However, we can’t do this alone. Your support will help us stage Tell Me Where It Hurts for a full run, reaching more people and raising greater awareness of PMDD and women’s health.
Please join us in bringing this crucial story to the stage. Every donation, share, and word of encouragement helps us educate more people and spark the conversations that matter.
Thank you for being part of this journey with us!
"An estimated 824,000 women in the UK may suffer from PMDD, a debilitating condition that remains largely misunderstood and underdiagnosed. Despite this so may women continue to endure these symptoms in silence, as health care professionals fail to recognize the severity of this condition. Shockingly, over 1 in 3 women with PMDD will contemplate suicide, and many will attempt it. We cannot overlook this deeply rooted misogyny in a medical system that too often dismisses women's health concerns.
The time for change is now.
Let’s raise awareness and start. One period at a time."
