Temple Grafton Cricket Club - Tea Hut Fund

The thousands who have played cricket at the Grafton Cricket Ground over the past 20 years will no doubt be familiar with The Roger Vardy-Smith Pavilion, more affectionately known as "the Tea Hut". The iconic white wooden building was gifted to us in 1999 and has been the focal point of our beautiful ground ever since. 

Unfortunately time has taken its toll and as a club we are left with a huge dilemma. Whilst structurally sound, we need to undertake significant work on the building; primarily the floor and kitchen area to ensure that it remains usable as a facility for the foreseeable future. In addition, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we are in a unique circumstance whereby there is unlikely to be any cricket played this year. Obviously this puts a huge dent in our capacity to raise funds and potentially puts the future of the pavilion at risk. Left as it is, we may be forced to demolish.

As a club we feel able to ride the storm of coronavirus and cover our (not insignificant) fixed costs for the year, but the club committee have decided to take unprecedented measures and seek donations from our past and current members, players, Vice-Presidents and most importantly the friends of the club and opponents who have enjoyed the GCG in the past and hopefully look forward to enjoying it in the future should we return to the field. 

Anything you are able to donate will be graciously received and where possible everyone will be listed within the pavilion on a 'Wall of Thanks' as part of the completed works.
