Teo's Top Surgery Fundraiser

WHO AM I?

My name is Teo and I'm a latinx trans non-binary person living in Naarm/Melbourne, I am very passionate about my trans community and mental health. I am studying community services and I am a queer artist, in my free time I love to draw and write poetry.

I am currently working hard to support myself and pay for my studies, however, as an international student, my income is low - so I am asking for your help to achieve a life-changing goal: GENDER-AFFIRMING SURGERY (TOP SURGERY)!!

From a young age, I felt uncomfortable in the body I was born in. As a trans non-binary person, top surgery is a crucial step for me to feel more aligned with my true self. Over the past few years, I have faced numerous challenges, including coming out and starting hormone replacement therapy (HRT) last year, which has made me very happy. However, my gender dysphoria has intensified recently, and the financial burden of saving for top surgery has become overwhelming.

COST BREAKDOWN:

The total cost for my top surgery comes with a price tag of $14,000 when considering the surgery fees, surgery consultations, WPATH letter, anesthesiologists, hospital bills, radiology-pathology and living expenses during the 4 weeks recovery period. My current job does not offer sick leave or Gender Affirmation Leave so rent, food, bills, meds and aftercare items post surgery are all additional costs.
