Terenure & Templeogue Sustainable Community Group

Hi ,

We need your help to ensure sustainable development is carried out within Terenure and Templeogue and the surrounding area. Our community requires suitable and affordable development in terms of housing and transport and needs to be protected from totally inappropriate and overdevelopment that is contrary to the principles of proper planning and sustainable development, as well as the ill thought out traffic solutions that will have a dramatic effect on the daily lives of the people living and working in Terenure and Templeogue.

We are a group of concerned residents who have been working hard behind the scenes to help ensure there is sustainable development within our community from planning, local infrastructure to transport. Recent times have seen a potentially disastrous series of planning applications from developers within our community, including the LRD on Fortfield Road, and in our surrounding our community (the SHD on Carlisle Kimmage). We also have the potential plan to implement Bus Connects that will drastically impact our daily lives and turn many roads in the area to rat runs and near dual carriage ways!!.

The critical point here on any development is that it should be suitable, affordable and additive to the wider community and not put a burden on already struggling local amenities and infrastructure.

Your generosity is critical to contributing towards the cost of observations, objections, legal costs to the experts we require to engage in supporting our work, from Engineers, Traffic management consultants, Ecologists, Hydrologists etc. Unfortunately, this expertise is expensive but is required if we plan to represent our community in achieving the sustainable, progressive and friendly villages that we are from.
