Teresa (Coleman) Seifried Brain Cancer
Teresa started having jaw seizures before work on March 19th. She proceeded to go to work and also saw her family doctor at KRHC. She never experienced any pain or headaches. On Saturday, March 20th she woke to a major jaw seizure and was rushed to the ER in Algona. They did a CT scan and it showed a brain bleed. She was taken by Life Flight to Mason City. They did an MRI and we were told we would need to wait a few weeks for the blood to absorb and to reveal a possible tumor. She had breakthrough seizures the week of April 19th and her 2nd MRI was April 22nd. The Neurosurgeon indicated she had a brain tumor and surgery was 4 days later on Monday April 26th. She had 4 days to prepare for a new life change. The tumor is located in the speech area of the brain. They were not able to remove the whole tumor. The biopsy indicated the tumor is Glioblastoma Brain Cancer. She will start Radiation, Monday June 7th along with Chemo. The treatments will be Monday-Friday for 7 weeks. She currently has difficulty with speech and right side weakness.
The funds raised will go towards ongoing medical bills. Teresa is divorced and lives in Livermore, Iowa. Teresa has worked at KRHC for 13 years.
