Teresa McKinnon

Hello everyone, my name is Sheran Ashby and my friend, a very special woman, Teresa McKinnon of Salem, MO has devastating medical and financial needs. Teresa was recently diagnosed with lung cancer, which has spread to her brain and her kidneys. Our hearts are breaking and we are asking for urgent prayers and financial help for her and her husband.

Many of you reading this story have either had a loved one with a diagnosis such as this or have known someone who is suffering. The costs can be overwhelming.

Teresa has spent the last 11 years working as a waitress at Sybill's Restaurant in St. James, MO. She has the most contagious laugh and a great attitude. Over the years she has become a wonderful friend to us and our community. We looked forward to seeing her smiling face each time we entered the restaurant.

Her employers say she was committed to her customers and has been one of the hardest workers they had. She always had a warm hug for those around her and an immediate smile. She loves to take care of her family and her customers. Even if she saw people she knew who were not in her station that night, she would go to their tables and welcome them. She was called "Mom" by the younger wait staff and would pitch in to help them in any way they needed.

Lisa and Laura (co-workers at the restaurant) said that over the 11 years they have worked together, they became like sisters (fights included). She gave 100% of herself to helping others. They say she is one of the strongest women they know and has a heart for others. She is ready to laugh with them, cry with them and give giant warm hugs to those who needed it.

Teresa has been through a great deal over the last couple of years with her husband's illness, her mother's death and now this terminal diagnosis. She has no immediate family close by and she

has no life insurance. She has been the major supporter of her family and now she is in for the fight of her life. She recently had to quit work and she needs our help to meet her high deductible medical costs and for all of the things that insurance does not cover. If any of you have gone through this with a loved one, you know the costs can be overwhelming, especially with no income at all.

I know God will be with her through this journey and we are asking for prayers that God will give her peace and strength and immediate financial support.
