Teresa Needs Us: Facing Cancer Surgery

Help Support Teresa White as She Fights Cancer

As many of you know, Teresa has been fighting cancer since last summer with such a positive and faithful spirit, along with her devoted husband Alan who has been by her side every step of the way. After completing chemotherapy at Advent for a cancer called Adenocarcinoma with Signet Ring features, she is currently healing physically from the exploratory laparoscopy she had last week at MD Cancer Center in Houston.

She is also still processing the news that the doctors are proceeding promptly with a very big surgery called HIPEC– which includes a heated cancer treatment– that is now scheduled in early May. During this CRS/HIPEC (Cytoreduction and Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy) surgery, they will remove the tumors they discovered last week along with any cancer they can see and then inject high doses of heated chemo into her abdomen to kill any remaining cancer cells. We are grateful this HIPEC surgery provides a more effective treatment option for Teresa.

Unfortunately, this will entail a 7-10 day hospital stay requiring them to remain in Houston for up to four weeks as part of her initial recovery. Afterwards they will need to return every three months for follow-ups for an undetermined amount of time. As you can imagine this is not only going to be very costly, but a challenging road to endure.

I would like to ask for your support to relieve as much of this burden on them as we can. Please help me raise money to cover some of their medical and travel expenses.

I've known Teresa and Alan for 30 years, and they've always been the ones serving and giving to others. Even during this cancer journey, they continue to serve at church and to help others in any way they can. Now we have an opportunity to support them. Any monetary amount is welcome.
