Teresa Berry Cancer Support Fund

Teresa Berry has been a teacher for the Excelsior Springs School District since 2003, and a teacher for the Excelsior Springs Area Career Center since 2004, where she has taught both teenagers and adults.
On September 3, 2015 while making her bed, Teresa experienced numbness on the right side of her body. Six days later on September 9, when she realized she was having difficultly focusing and using a computer, Teresa's co-workers convinced her it was time to visit a hospital, where she received an MRI and a CT scan.
On September 10, 2015, Teresa was diagnosed with Grade 4 Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM). Since Teresa showed none of the conventional symptoms, the tumor had gone unnoticed for roughly a year.
She went in for surgery on September 15, 2015 where 90-95% of the tumor was able to be removed. On October 9, 2015 she went back in for another surgery to remove small tumerous fragments that were not able to be removed the first time. In another 3-4 weeks, Teresa will be starting chemotherapy and radiation treatments.
GBM is a highly aggressive form of brain cancer, and as such will require a great deal of treatment. While she is still employed and receiving medical coverage for the time being, she is not sure she will be able to return to work.
The friends and family of Teresa Berry have set up this account in order to build funds to help her pay for expenses such as medical bills, utilities, groceries, and other day to day expenses.
Teresa is not generally a person who enjoys being the center of attention, as she would much prefer spending her time teaching and helping others. However, now it's time for the community to return the favor and show our support for Teresa when she needs us most.
Any donations, prayers, and well wishes are much appreciated.
