Help for Darla's fight against Cancer
Donation protected
We are raising funds to help our mom, Darla Wilder, who was diagnosed with Stage 4 Metastatic breast cancer last January, which has spread to the bones and lymph nodes. Although it is inoperable, the treatments she receives are reducing the size of the tumors and we are optimistic that this will extend her years.
Our mom is a very caring and loving person who was a single parent for most of our childhood. She has always put us first as well as our cousins, friends, and other children in her life. Mom worked at elementary schools with special needs students and formed very strong bonds with them. Helping these children was an enriching experience for her which she treasures.
Mom also has a strong love for animals and has rescued countless pets that were unwanted. Cats, dogs, a turtle, guinea pig, and rats, to name a few. A few years ago Mom took in "Bobbins", a homeless cat with a crippled leg. She saved his life. Mom's dream has always been to have an animal sanctuary out in the country someday.
We are relieved that she can get treatments at KU Med Cancer Clinic; however, her medical insurance does not cover all the costs.
Our family home for over 31 years is also in need of several major repairs. So far, we've received some estimates on the new bathroom floor and gutters, which are more costly than expected. We hope to raise enough funds to get these jobs done, so Mom has a comfortable home to live in.
Any amount that can be donated is greatly appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to read this. Sincerely, Jesse and Jareth
