Terminally ill father (Jack Bradshaw)

We're starting this Gofundme for our father, Jack Bradshaw. This is a hard step for us to make, my father has never asked anyone for anything and has worked hard his entire life to get by. He has always been the strong, reliable person in our lives who has always helped us when we needed him. But now it's time for us to help him.

Dad was recently diagnosed with a genetic disease that's destroying his lungs and he is now terminally ill. He is currently receiving treatments and is on the way to being put on the transplant list for new lungs. He is fully oxygen dependant and is no longer able to work due to this disease.

We are currently awaiting SSI disability which could take quite some time, and with him now being unemployed for the first time in his life, he's unable to make ends meet. He was denied disability through Hartford and was turned down for the Zephyr valve procedure that would have held him over until he was able to receive a transplant due to his the stage of deterioration in his lungs. So this is really our only option at this point. We are doing our best to support him and do what we can but these are hard times for all of us. He has applied for long term care Medicaid so he will be able to stay in an assisted living facility where he will have full time care and his medical needs will be met.

I'm creating this Gofundme in hopes that my dad's financial needs will be met until his disability and medicaid are active and he'll no longer have to worry about how he'll get by. This amount will cover his medical insurance that's currently funding his infusion treatments, his monthly costs such as groceries, utilities, rent. It'll be one less thing he has to worry over and he can focus on the quality of life he has while he's able to.

We all truly appreciate everyone who has helped us, this will give all of us peace of mind and help us focus on spending time with dad and ensuring he's cared for in his time of need.
