Please help my mom get the cancer treatment she needs!

My amazing mother, Terri, has been diagnosed with terminal stage 4 colon cancer. It has metastasized to her liver and lungs. Since chemotherapy is not an option for her, my parents have decided to go with an alternative treatment plan. Unfortunately, the majority of the treatment is not covered by their insurance. The treatment, by itself, will cost them around $100,000.

The treatment center, Lifeworks Wellness Center, is in Clearwater, Florida which is over 500 miles away from their home in Kennesaw, Georgia. This means that, in addition to my mom's medical expenses, they also need to pay for accommodations and essentials on top of their normal expenses. They are currently having to rely on their retirement fund and are considering selling their home in Georgia and their possessions to cover costs.

This sweet woman is only ever giving of herself and has volunteered much of her time in service to others. She is kind and loving and has a smile that immediately makes you feel at home. She takes care of all others as if they were her own. In my own times of tribulation, she has supported me and my family without any second thought, asking nothing in return.

This is not Terri's first experience with hardship. Years ago, she battled and won against metastatic breast cancer, which involved a variety of treatments, including chemotherapy and a battery of surgeries. Though that experience left her disabled and paralyzed in her writing hand/arm, she persevered with patience, grace, as well as support from her family, community and loving husband, Gib.

Terri's examples of generosity, humility, and compassion have been fundamental to our family and her community at large. We love this woman so deeply and we want your help in caring for her in this time of need.

"Here is an update on Terri’s progress...

We are at week 2 of Terri’s treatment program. She has a port installed and is getting infusions almost daily with alternative medicine cocktails to build up her immunity and strengthen her body. She takes about 20 different capsules and pills every day, along with several different liquids. She is also using a nebulizer for her lungs. We are waiting for them to begin the actual low-dose chemotherapy and medicines that will destroy the cancer. The lab tests were sent to Greece and I’m thinking that we are ready to start very soon. These medicines have been designed and packaged to specifically target her particular cancer, based on her bloodwork. We don’t expect it to make her sick as normal chemo and radiation would. The dosages are only targeting the cancer cells and will only go to the cancer as it is carried by glucose, which is drawn like a magnet to cancer.

We fully expect this to be successful because we trust that God sent us here for this. God’s will is very much in the mix and we believe that He will heal her and get us through this. Thank you for your prayers and generous contributions, every penny that we receive will go to pay for her treatment. She is so prayerful and trusting in God that she sees the outcome as His will.
