Terry Mays Family Benefit
Donation protected
In early January while away for work in Florida, Terry Mays, a Georgia resident, was debilitated by what was at the time assumed to be a stroke. He was life-flighted to Miami for treatment, where it was learned that the problem was not a stroke, but rather a tumor in the brain. The tumor has grown to approximately walnut size and is bearing on parts of the brain causing various symptoms, which mimicked a stroke. In Miami, he was fortunate enough to connect with one of the country’s leading neurosurgeons. Terry and his family came to the decision to remain in Miami to undergo this major surgery to remove the tumor and biopsy.
This has been an unforeseen financial burden on his family. While in the hospital for diagnosis, Terry contracted Covid and was discharged due to hospital overcrowding. His surgery schedule was contingent upon a negative test, increasing his time away from home. This forced the family to establish temporary, local residence for the duration of the treatment and convalescence, as he cannot travel after the operation. The convalescent period will last into March.
Terry is a dedicated employee, with almost 43 years of experience with the same company, during which time he has worn many hats. He is a leader, a mentor, a friend and most importantly family to all who have been privileged to know him personally. He is a man of faith and is claiming God’s victory as he commences his fight, but still needs everyone’s thoughts and prayers.
As Terry stated to me, this is a Big Year for the Mays family. They began construction on a new home late last year, which is ongoing, and which he cannot be here to oversee. Also, Terry has two daughters that he will be walking down the aisle this year. Terry has a lot that he needs to get back to, which is why we are reaching out to everyone that can help, to please help. Anything that you can offer will ease the burden, even if only thoughts and prayers. Thank you for helping.
