Terry McKinney

Hi, my name is Cindy and I'm asking for assistance for one of my best friends and her daughter. As many of you know Terry McKinney passed away unexpectedly this past Saturday. His wife Karla McKinney and daughter Madison McKinney are now without their husband and father. Terry also leaves behind a daughter Tiffany McKinney Toney and his mother Madalin Brasher and brother Steve. Terry loved many things but his love for his Lord and Savior and his love for his family and friends was always apparent in his life. I am borrowing a post from one of their family members to tell you more about this very special man:

"Prayers for my aunt Karla Dotson McKinney and cousin Madison McKinney as they face the upcoming days and the loss of their husband/father Terry McKinney.

I can remember being upset as a child when Karla and Terry got married, because it meant I had to share her with someone else. If you knew me as a little girl, you know I was Karla’s shadow. If Karla went somewhere and I could go with her… I was there. She was “my Karla”.

Once I got past the point of having to share her with Terry, I could truly see how happy they were, and how great of a person Terry truly was. I didn’t have to be mad or sad to share her, because he loved her just as much as I did.

Flash forward almost 5 years, to the birth of Madison. The child Karla had wanted all her life. Terry (with the help of God) made sure to do whatever it took, to ensure that she got to experience the joy of motherhood. Terry made it his mission to make sure not only that Karla had the desires of her heart, but that now their little girl would too. He spent the next 20 years proving that every day. Terry loved his girls more than anything.

While Terry is no longer here on earth to remind them daily…the time, effort and love he has shown them over the years will continue to remind them how much they meant to him.

Terry was thoughtful, he was kind, loving to all people, stronger than most with all he faced in the last 13 years, and always a beacon of light in this sometimes very dark world.

Thank you Terry, for taking care of and loving “my Karla” for the last 25 years. Thank you for helping give her the joy of her life, Madison. Thank you for the love you showed me over the years and for just being you.

We will miss you more than words or tears can express."

As many of you know hospital expenses and day to day living expenses can be very overwhelming especially when you're just lost the love of your life. I am asking those who know and love Terry and his family to think about giving to help Karla and Madison in the coming weeks until everything settles down and they can get back to their new normal. A Memorial Service is being planned for the near future to celebrate Terry's life. Karla will be posting more about that as plans are finalized.
