Terry (not Dairy) to replace stolen ice-cream bike
Donation protected
We're Terry (because we're non-dairy).
We serve delicious dairy-free, gluten-free and stress-free ice cream. We launch pop-ups in Calgary (recently in festivals such as Sunfest & Lilac) through our ice-cream electronic trike to serve Calgarians our delicious dairy-free ice cream.
On July 31 2022 however, we had 2 thieves break into our storage unit & steal our business away from us by hi-jacking our ice-cream bike.
We are normally never the type of people to ask for hand-outs or want ever to bother anyone in our community, but we have tried everything in our power to get our bike back and at this point, based on what we know - it's been stripped down and sold for parts.
Yes, we know - $10,000 for a electronic trike sounds incredibly ridiculous, but in order to serve ice cream at a good temperature, the bike needs to have a
- Built-In Battery
- Freezer
- Motorized to be able carry all the weight
- A working sink with a portable water tank to be approved to allow samplings by AHS
... and all that comes at a hefty cost, especially to a business starting out.
We don't expect to hit our goal nor do we expect anyone to donate - but we've received countless messages to try to do this, so we figured we'd give a shot. If we raise $50, cool. If we raise $100, even better.
Something is better than nothing as we are out of hope at this point.
We are a start-up here in Calgary and all of our initial capital has gone into the research & development of our ice cream (which is why it tastes so good & we think it's going to revolutionize ice cream) so we're down to our last dollar.
This theft has really hurt us and jeopardized the rest of the plans we had for the summer to continue letting Calgarians re-kindle their childhood love for delicious, fluffy ice cream (without the yuck after).
Anything honestly helps and if we can't raise enough to buy a bike, we will purpose the money into
- Portable freezers
- Packaging & other ad-hoc costs
- Or any other clever, low-cost solution we can think of to get our pop-ups going
