Help Ethiopian Children Fight Cancer
Donation protected
Hello,
On 13th February 2025 I was fortunate enough to meet the bravest children in the world on my medical school elective.
Ethiopia is one of the poorest countries in the world and has 3 times more children with cancer than the UK. Having had childhood cancer myself, I can understand some of the struggles. But I was lucky (sounds ironic coming from someone who had a brain tumour). These children are fighting a battle where only 30% will survive. Mostly due to the poverty and lack of resources.
These children moved my heart and welcomed me with open arms. The least I could is get up and run for my life, to raise a bit money to help them out.
I'll be giving it my all as I'll complete a 5K run in Shetland in aid of these children. I plan to run on 12th April 2025.
All funds raised will go to Tesfa Addis Parents Childhood Cancer Organization (TAPCCO) a non-profit organisation that stole my heart. It was set up by struggling parents who wanted to save their children from cancer. Today, they;
- Provide accomodation to families that travel over 1000km to receive treatment.
- Pay for life saving cancer treatment for stuggling families
- Give healthy nutrition to help these children build the strength to fight off cancer.
Childhood cancer is not easy. But as collective we can help the most vulnerable people.
Note: GoFundMe doesn't support Ethiopia so I will bank transfer all the money and show reciepts. I'm sure they will send a video thanking all of the supporters.
