Calling all fans of old time radio: help The Tesla City Stories get “on the air” and boost our signal worldwide!*
Since 2014, The Tesla City Stories has been entertaining audiences in Portland, Oregon with our unique and hilarious glimpse into the glory days of live radio broadcasting. For those of you who haven’t been able to see us in action, our shows feature talented voice actors, special musical guests, and live “Foley” sound effects bringing these stories to life right before your, er, ears.
Like every other theatre company or live performer (and every person, really), we’ve spent the last year in an uncertain limbo. Our goal has always been to return to sharing the interconnected “shared universe” of vintage comedies, thrillers, soaps, and mysteries of the Tesla Broadcasting Company (1943-1945) with audiences - both locally and globally through a professionally produced podcast.
But to do so, we could use some help.
We realize that many fundraisers for theatrical productions are non-profit but these are usually for productions native to a non-profit venue or company. We at The Tesla City Stories have had wonderful relationships with the venues at which we’ve performed, but are an independent production that rents its theatre space for our year’s worth of shows.
Our crowds are loyal (and awesome!) and we play to packed houses every month, but as we grow, we want to keep our quality growing as well. That means keeping our cast and musical guests paid, our AV equipment maintained or improved, our merch replenished, and our podcast launched. And part of that includes building our very own Tesla City Stories recording studio! A tall order to be sure, but one we feel our friends and fans support.
Obviously, we appreciate any donation. No donation is too small or too large!
