Many moons ago Vince and I had the dream of moving our family to a community where we could open a neighborhood restaurant, raise our kids where they could run around, be surrounded by wonderful people and enjoy the benefit of top notch neighborhood schools. We settled on Park Hill in Denver and then the real work started. Getting the family moved, finding a location, enduring a year of construction and demands from the city to bring our property to 2018 codes. Our dreams became a reality November 2019 when we finally opened our doors to the neighborhood. Those who are close to us know we uncovered some unforeseen city codes and suddenly our project doubled in price and left us hundreds of thousands in the hole when we finally opened.
In February 2020 we started to breathe when business started to show signs of real growth. Then COVID happened. This past year we've taken it all in stride, applied for every possible grant, pushed as many bills to the side as we could and taken out four personal loans just to cover payroll and keep our awesome crew employed. With restaurants operating at reduced capacity and people staying home to keep the community safe, we are struggling to make it another month.
We want to head into winter in a better position to survive and need to get on top of some of our expenses. We feel tremendous love and support from the community. We also see minor growth in sales each month, but because of the pandemic they are not happening at the rate needed to make a dent on debt or even cover monthly expenses.
We're on the verge of losing our dreams before they were even given a fighting chance.
We want Tessa to survive. Our goal all along was to help improve East Colfax and our community. Offer a gathering spot for families, friends and neighborhood groups. We want to be here post COVID19 to once again connect Park Hill and Mayfair and deliver good food for all.
We would be forever grateful for any support you can offer us at this time. We want to be here in 2021 and beyond.
Love to you all. ~jess & vince
