All of us are placed in this world to make a difference and for myself, It took a minute for me to figure out and finally have clarity .

On February 25, while on set at a photoshoot , I suffered a seizure. Within 72 hrs I was diagnosed with a tumor in my brain called Glioblastoma Multiforme Grade 4, a terminal cancer with an average life expectancy of 12-16 months.

When I say that I have never been more alert, awake, and alive as I have been the last 4 weeks is an understatement. I am no longer looking at life with filtered lenses and my mission in life has become crystal clear. The beauty industry throughout the years has brought me so much happiness and joy, it helped me find the passion and zest for life I knew I always wanted.

On average, the beauty industry manages to gross an estimated $423 billion dollars a year, but has struggled for decades to provide a suitable avenue for the artists working with a means of acquiring adequate health care and affordable health insurance. The majority of beauty related companies today are comprised of independent workers, or are majority women who are added to their partners health insurance -making it unrealistic and too costly for businesses to offer health insurance to employees. Independent Beauty professionals are then faced with the choice of purchasing their own independent health insurance with an astronomical monthly price tag, or just simply go with out.

I am among those who pay this astronomical amount monthly and was able to receive the immediate help I needed. I realized that over 72% of our industry does not have ample insurance to get a MRI, CT scan, mammograms, or lung screenings at a moments notice- and have to jump through hoops to get referrals or biopsies before ever receiving the care needed - for me that would have been FATAL!!!

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

I feel like I have been called to shake up this industry and make a difference!!!

Team Flawless is launching a mobile app that connects clients and skilled professionals for hair & makeup services on demand. 100% of proceeds will go towards the launch of TF App. We are planning to pool the artist and client community together to build a universal educational platform, but more importantly fund a health care initiative for Team Flawless artists, and DEMAND the industry back us up.
