10k for Transport for Sick Children

Donation protected
Transport for Sick Children is a charity which operates a volunteer driver scheme to reduce the transport barriers that children living in Greater Manchester may have.  The charity works to ensure equal access to health care for those children.

In the school holidays of 1999 & 2000, my mum brought me along in the car on her volunteering trips, this was how I met and got to know Saranda and her cousins.   Saranda and her family were medically evacuated to Manchester from Kosovo after the Kosovan war in 1999, my mum and wonderful fellow volunteers helped transport Saranda and her cousins to and from various hospital and physio appointments.

Without realising I was witnessing first-hand how important the work of Transport for Sick Children is for children and their families.  Transport for Sick Children helped the Bogujevci family in their recovery journey, and helped me gain an inspirational friend, Saranda, who has subsequently become a part of my family.

In celebration of Transport for Sick Children's 40 years of service to children in Manchester, Saranda and I are running the Great Manchester 10K together on Sunday 28th May.

Any donations for Transport for Sick Children would be gratefully received!
