Dave’s journey

Hi, my name is Erica, I wanted to put this together for my friend Dave and his family. 

Dave is an active, funny, hardworking man. He has worked full-time as a journeyman welder for the better part of 20 years. He has created many friendships and connections through his job at foremost over the years, and is a great friend. 

Dave and his girlfriend Elyse raise 4 children together, one of which has special needs. Dave is patient and kind. he loves the outdoors, he can build just about anything out of metal or wood. He enjoys supercars, going fast and living life with lots of fun. 

Dave received devastating news in January 2023. He was diagnosed with Stage 4 kidney cancer. Dave was told by the oncologists that his cancer is rare and possibly genetic in nature. It doesn’t respond to typical interventions such as chemo and radiation. This cancer is resistant, it is aggressive and it has spread through Dave’s lymphatic system.

Since receiving this news, Dave has been fighting very hard every single day. He was put on an immunotherapy treatment to help fight the cancer, he also received radiation to help with symptom management. 

Unfortunately the treatments were not effective and the cancer continues to grow. 

While Dave and his family are waiting for the doctors to formulate a new plan, they thought Dave should have some fun. They asked him what he would want to do if he was given the opportunity. He said he wanted to drive a supercar, go 200mph+ he also wanted to meet some public figures that he shares interests with, like Elon Musk, Snoop Dogg and Matthew Mcconaughey. He wants to do a helicopter drop on the top of a mountain and camp in the backcountry. 

We want Dave to experience these things. Especially if he has a limited number of time on this earth. We want him to live his life to the absolute fullest. So far, Dave’s outstanding sister Amanda arranged for Dave to drive a supercar and go 200mph. We would absolutely love to help him cross more items off of his bucket list. 

Any and all funds raised go directly to Dave and his family to help keep the bills paid, so the family can focus on making these dreams a reality for Dave.
