Michelle's Fight With Breast Cancer

Michelle Skillman is a loving 46 year old wife, mother of 3 beautiful children (a 5 year old daughter and twin 17 year old boys), special education teacher, daughter, sister, friend and aunt to many who love her.  During the holidays, she found a lump and within one week, was told that she had triple negative breast cancer...Stage 3C. Instead of fully enjoying the season with her children, she began her journey of many months of surgery and chemotherapy...and is now facing a mastectomy and radiation. She has never blinked, nor stopped taking care of the people she cares about, or the causes she cares about. She has continued to work to the extent possible through treatment to not let her students down. Despite being very ill, she has continued with her studies in a Masters of Administration program by studying from bed and is STILL expected to graduate next month.  She is an avid supporter of our military veterans and is known for the huge community Veterans Day celebration she created - complete with skydivers. All to give the attention to those who deserve it the most - soldiers who have given up so much for all of us. And through all of this, she continues to take biscuits to the local animal shelter and care for the menagerie of dogs she has at home - anything to help someone or an animal in need. She is the LAST person to ask anyone else for help and that's why we are creating this site on her behalf. Mounting medical bills and costs associated with her treatment have been getting the best of her and her family's attention recently. She should not have to worry about these things when she needs to concentrate on getting better, as the hardest part is yet to come.  So many people have been helping while others want to contribute in some way...and so we thought this site would be a great way to show her how much we all care. Thank you for your support - every little bit helps - even a dollar - more than you know. She is definitely someone who pays it forward every day.
