Dominican Republic Service Trip
Donation protected
I am Sara. I love to play softball and I love to share the game with others. I have been given a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to help young girls in the Dominican Republic and I hope you can help me make it a reality.
During my 2014 high school season, one of my teammates started a program called "The Diamond Project". The intention of the project was to promote the game of softball and provide much needed equipment to less advantaged female softball players around the world, specifically in the Dominican Republic. We asked for new or gently used softball equipment. We began getting deliveries from teams we were playing as well as teams not on our schedule. As word spread, there was an outpouring of generosity.

We have been coordinating the delivery of the equipment with Community Connection International . (Check out the awesome video on their website .) Our goal is to have the equipment delivered in time for CCI to begin a summer program where the girls in the Dominican Republic can earn the equipment in return for community service efforts.
The next phase of The Diamond Project is to send a team of high school softball players to the Dominican Republic for a week to participate in a tournament over the Thanksgiving holiday. In addition, we will participate in a community service event and host softball clinics for the young girls of the DR.
I am very excited about this trip, and can't wait to work with the girls there. This is an expensive trip. Any donation, no matter how small would be greatly appreciated. If you can’t donate, please share! I'm hoping to cover airfare, hotel, and expenses for my mom and I to go. I hope you feel that empowering young women through sports is a worthy cause.
