Zinka has been a Police Dispatcher with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department since 2011. She is a single mom of three and is dedicated to providing for her children.
Her youngest child is a precious boy who is almost 8 years old. He is diagnosed with a rare neuro-developmental disorder called White Sutton Syndrome. He began having difficulties at one week old, has had multiple surgeries in seven years, many within his first few years of life, including surgery on his heart. He has a G-tube to provide him nutrients, and a tracheostomy, also known as a trach, which provides him a secure airway for breathing and ventilator to assist him with breathing.
Zinka and her family were victims of a home and auto burglary this past March. The suspect took their van from the garage of their home, then later crashed and totaled the van. Their vehicle contained a specialized car seat to transport her son and the medical supplies he needs to survive. The family was finally able to replace the van.
We are asking for assistance to fund getting her new van modified for her son’s wheelchair. As her son ages and grows, it is becoming difficult for Zinka to safely lift him in and out of his bed, into a wheelchair, then into the car seat. She then has to lift the wheelchair into the van. This would allow her to keep her son in his wheelchair and secured in the van while going to his many Doctor visits.
Being the sole provider and caretaker for her family has been financially challenging and now with the added car payment, it will be difficult to afford a modification on her van. Please help us with finding a way to help this amazing mother who not only dedicates her love to her family, but also dedicates her love to our community as a Police Dispatcher by helping others in their darkest hour.
