Thaduba Magdalena Turay

Hello, everyone, this Go-Fund-Me has been created on behalf of our beloved daughter, sister, friend, and cousin, the late Ms. Thaduba Magdalena Turay.

Thaduba was killed on Sunday, April 14th, 2024 at 2:41am by a wrong-way driver who was under the influence of alcohol, according to a state police report.

Thaduba/ Lena/ Maggy as she was called by her family and friends was born on January 26, 2003 in Freetown, Sierra Leone. She relocated to the United States with her family when she was a year old for better opportunities and life.

She left behind 3 younger siblings (Sapunka- 16yrs, Benjamin -9yrs, and Favor -7yrs). She was the first child of her family. Her father's and mother's names are Mr. Samuel Dilito Turay and Mrs. Fatmata Turay.

Thaduba graduated from Cardinal O’Hara High School in 2021 and later attended the Cheyney University of Pennsylvania where she pursued a Nursing degree which would eventually lead to Medical school.

Thaduba loves dancing and her passion for dancing led her to be part of her Church praise group at Faith Wesleyan Church- Darby.

While attending Cheyney University she helped with starting a Praise Dance at her university and many other clubs. She loves attending church and love working for the Lord. Anyone who knows Thaduba knows that’s one trait you can never take from her.

Thaduba also has an organization in her home country Sierra Leone called “Thaduba’s Passion Project” which promotes the importance of education in girls’ children. She was supporting over 35 girls providing school fees and supplies for them.

Thaduba was and is loved by the whole Philadelphia-Sierra Leonean community.

All funds from this will be in support of her foundation back home and to also be an advocate to support against driving under the influence of Alcohol (DUI).
