Thank you to our Covid-19 Heroes!

Tax deductible
On April 10, 2020 I was discharged from the Hackensack Meridian Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune New Jersey after being admitted nearly a month earlier at Centrastate Medical Center in Freehold for Covid 19.

In mid march, I went into respiratory failure due to bilateral pneumonia from Covid19, was intubated and put into a medically induced coma. My prognosis was poor and had very little chance of survival. The high fevers went away, my medical team started weaning me down to lower levels off the ventilator until I was able to breath on my own again. After waking up to a whole different world and having to learn to eat, learn to speak, and learn to walk again, there was one thing i couldn’t stop saying: Thank You.

Thank you to every nurse and doctor that got me through this. Thank you to every technician, physical therapist, custodians, pharmacists, speech therapists, and everyone else who went into my hospital rooms knowingly risking their lives to take care of me.

Thank you for everyone who worked to get me the right medication from my congressman, my business network, family, friends, and anyone who heard our story and offered to help us in anyway they could.

And thank you all for the thoughts and prayers that pushed me to recover and get stronger every day.

So what’s next?

On April 10th 2021, one year after being discharged, i will run the roughly 20 mile route from Centrastate Hospital to Jersey Shore Medical Center as a thank you to everyone. And to bring attention to the amazing work these heroes are doing in this unprecedented time. I barely survived the ambulance ride while on a ventilator a year ago, and this run will be a testament to every victim who has battled and too often lost against this virus. Politics aside, we cannot deny the dedication of our health care professionals.

I want to raise money for both of these hospitals foundations and let them know how much we all appreciate them. So please contribute what you can. And to my extensive business network out there, let me know what you need to get your companies to contribute and help sponsor this.

I’m going to put a small goal up with the hope that we will quickly surpass it and keep pushing.

One way or another I’m going to make it to my destination. Whether it takes me three hours or 6 hours, I hope you all enjoy the journey to get there with me.

And remember…. we’re Thrivers not Survivors. See you next year.
