Thanking our Front Line Healthcare Workers
Donation protected
Right now, our amazing healthcare workers are on the frontlines of battling the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19). They are putting themselves in the path of this virus during this crisis- to make sure that our community stays safe. This level of empathy and selflessness is admired, appreciated, and should always be commended.
As a medical student in Chicago, we are limited in what we can do to help at this point. But none the less, I see caring and dedicated students work to help assist our hospitals in the community- whether it's fundraising for Protective Gear or working to get our healthcare workers catered meals while they work tirelessly. I want to do my part to show appreciation and respect to the healthcare workers in my community back home in San Diego. That is why we are asking the community to give their thanks by chipping in whatever they can so that we can get catered meals to our wonderful healthcare workers.
At this point, Hillcrest and Mission Hills in San Diego have more COVID-19 cases than any other areas in the county. We are partnering with local restaurants in Hillcrest to cater warm meals to Scripps Mercy Hospital in Hillcrest. We will be getting delicious Afghan/Persian food from Khyber Pass Zarparan in Hillcrest delivered catered to Scripps Mercy. Though times have been difficult for local restaurants, the Khyber Pass family recognizes the amazing work of healthcare providers. For all the selfless acts of Frontline workers Khyber Pass has committed to matching $1000 worth of food for this fundraiser- their way of saying thank you to our local heroes. We can all do our part to give thanks as well.
