Jimmy and Barbara are the most kind, generous and charitable people you could meet. They have raised thousands of pounds for all kinds of worthy causes, consistently through the years. Selflessly helping out people and charities when in need. They created a warm welcoming atmosphere inside their pubs for years wherever they went, and we know this was much loved by many.

Sadly and unfortunately they have stepped down from running the Vernon and the city has lost the legendary landlord we all know and love.

We thought we could make a gesture of thanks for everything Jimmy, Barbara and family have done and give them a little send off to help them on their new path. So a couple of us thought we could hopefully raise enough to send them on a nice, thoroughly deserving break. Instead of doing a whip around in the pub, we thought there were probably some people who might feel like donating online.

For all the warm welcomes Jimmy, Barbara and family have given us walking into their friendly, community home. For all the smiles, for all the jokes, happy moments and hugs, dancing and singing, laughing and crying. We will miss all those special and personal moments.
