The 2023 John Martyn summer Gathering

Since 2014, the admin on the John Martyn Group facebook page have run the Summer Gathering music event, this has always been run as a not for profit venture, with any money raised through ticket sales going towards performance fees, accomodation, and where possible, travel expenses for the artistes who play for us. We pride ourselves on championing new up and coming talent, hopefully giving them a leg up at the start of their careers.

The aftermath of Covid 19 saw a 50% reduction in audience attendance at the 2022 Gathering, and we were able to cover costs only because of donations from members of our group.

By setting up this go fund me page, group members can donate much more easily should they choose too, and money donated is accountable going forward, as we pursue our aim of eventually setting up a charitable foundation in John Martyn's name.

Money raised will help us to bring in more artistes, and hopefully fund a professional live streaming service for our group members unable to attend.
