The 300 Fort Hill Stairs Challenge Fundraiser
Tax deductible
The Challenge and Goal - 300 "reps" at the Fort Hill Steps at Rocky River Reservation, North Olmsted, OH. There are 155 steps going up. The challenge was to accumulate 300 reps up and down. The Goal was to raise $10/rep up and down, and to accumulate 300 total which would raise $3,000 for the Olmsted Spirit Scholarship and Small Business Fund.
5/26/2021 Update
The Challenge: All 300 reps complete! It took a total of 17.5 hours in a span of two days. 15 hours on Sunday from 6:00am-9:00pm, 2.5 Monday evening from 6:30pm-8:30pm. As a community we completed 260 reps up and down Sunday, about 150 on my own, and then I did the last 40 reps on Monday with some friends joining me as I finished. What an incredible two days, filled with the support of over 40 friends and family who took time out of their day to come up and cheer me on, some doing many reps together with me, or for me! I am beyond thankful for that support. It really made this challenge bearable, and made the time on Sunday pass very quickly. I never went more than a few moments alone throughout the day, and didn't need a thing as supplies, food, and hydration was always there for me.
The Goal: With over 65 people contributing, the $3,000 fundraising goal was met the day before the challenge started! Like those who came out to be with me on Sunday, I am so thankful for all the support and donations that have come in, and are still coming in!
The biggest reason why I chose to do this fundraiser this way was because since we are helping out by giving back to local businesses this year, which we normally go to for support as sponsors for the Olmsted Spirit 5k, I chose to challenge myself physically, and also earn your donations by doing this fundraiser. We all work hard for the money we make, and I felt it was necessary to work hard to earn your donations. With the money raised by this fundraiser, we will be able to award multiple scholarships as we always have to Olmsted Falls grads who give back and serve their Olmsted Community, as well as help out a handful of very deserving local businesses who always serve and give to this community!
Thank you to everyone! And if you wish to donate, this fundraiser will continue to be open a little bit longer!
