3rd Annual SEEDS Campaign- 2021
Anba MòN is a community of small farmers farming in Jacmel, Ayiti they struggle to save seeds for sustainable practices.
In 2016, Hurricane Matthew destroyed their country farmlands, livestock and their seeds bank. they haven't been able to replenish their 'Seeds Bank'.
The funds will be used by the farmers to purchase seeds:
Black beans, Red beans and Maize
They need the funds by: SUNDAY, MARCH 22, 2021. Last day for your contribute and generosity is Monday, March 29, 2021.
The support will benefit 102 families who have prepared their lands and ready to plant
FACTS: Tidbit about the 2nd Annual Seeds Campaign - 2020
*We have 102 Families
*All together 320 people that are organized as APAM.
*Last May of 2020, during COVID we harvested 5 X the amount we purchased
*Any surplus, were sold at the opened market
*They saved for the next planting season which started in August 2020
*Last year, because of surplus they bartered with an herbalist Dr. Jean Charles Berthony and held two workshops on "Identiying and using Medicinal Plants from our own garden". We found that our community had no cases of SAR-COvid-19
The goal is to hopefully start to save indigenous/ heirloom seeds again.
We hope you will come along with us by supporting us in anyway you are able.
