The 90 Day Winter Swim in Aid of Pieta House
Hello, my name is David Byrne and I am hoping to raise a few bob for Pieta House to support the much needed work they do every day for people around the country who are struggling with their mental health, who turn to them for help when they are in need.
I’ll be swimming in cold water every day for the 90 days of winter. Either in the sea, a river or lake, from the 1st of December 2021 to the 28th of February 2022. I’ll also be doing Freezbrury for the month of February, where I’ll be swimming for 1 minute each day and adding 1 minute as the days go on. To make things more difficult, I will be using no supports. No hot water bottle for when I get out, no fancy dry robes, no wet suit. Just me and the cold.
Mental health is an illness that cannot be seen and is very hard for people who haven’t experienced it themselves to understand. By raising money for Pieta House, we can help enhance the support they can give to those who are in need.
This time of year in particular can be tough on many people, especially financially. So please donate what you can, no matter how small you may think it is. Every penny counts. If you can’t afford to donate money, please share this page around to your friends and family, spread the word of positivity toward speaking about mental health and most importantly, talk to someone if you feel like you need to.
