Hello everyone,

My name is Goran Popović, I come from Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina, I'm 25 years old and I'm a graduated professor of English language and literature. I live with my sister, my single mom, and my grandmother. Upon finish my studies at the university of Džemal Bijedić in Mostar, I worked as, a am working to this day as a freelance artist. I'm constantly trying to upgrade myself in the fields of acting, directing, dancing, singing and painting. Given these facts I decided to apply for the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York in 2018, November to fullfill my long-lasting dream of becoming an actor. I went to the audition in Sweden, Stockholm which was arranged in May 2019. Without any expectations, two weeks after I auditioned, I recieved my acceptance letter via mail, and immediately started my enrollment to the Academy. The Academy of Dramatic arts lasts for two years in total.
While going through the Enrollment package of the American Academy of Dramatic arts, I realized that I am probably going to withdraw from the enrollment program since the full tuition for the school was over the budget for me. Short after that I recieved their Merit, Honurs and Need-based schoolarship, only based on my audition, which could cover housing, which costs around 18.000 USD. Given the fact that I come from a very small country, which is currently reaching the highest point of the financial collapse, it is hard to think that I could get any funds or donations or sponsorships from Bosnia and Herzegovina. You might be asking yourself"Why did he apply if he knew from the start that he does not have enough money to pay it?" , and my answer to that question is "Because everybody deserves a chance to grab their dreams and turn them into reality."
Since my financial situation at home is not on it's highst level and cannot cover all the expenses needed to study in America, I've sent mail, had phone calls and translated what was required from me in order to get the financial aid with which I could be able to finish my enrollment program. When I provided the info about my financial stability (disbalance) to the academy, and as a proof I translated a tax card from my mom, they soon realized, based on my needs, talents and lack of finance, that I am a number one candidate for Shubert Schoolarship which covers tuition, general fee and housing for two years of studying. This schoolarship is not common and is given to only one student in a two-year program, based on their audition, talent and needs for the financial aid. This was a turning point for me, because I realized that I am going to be able to get some donations, since now I have to pay 12.000 USD for two years to cover my medical insurance and personal expenses, along with books and supplies.

I'm starting this crowdfunding in order to ask for help in terms of financial support for my studying abroad. I would like to emphasize that I am not asking for a particular company, or a person to donate 12.000 USD because I know that is a lot of money to ask for. I would be gratefull for life to the moon and back to anyone out there who is willing to donate any amount of money which I can use to upgrade my knowledge in the artistic field as an actor and plus achive the dream I cherished from the young age.
Since the the studies start at Fall in september 2019, I have to do my best to try to get as much as donations as possible. If you feel you could donate anything or any amount whatsoever to be part of my dream I would be extremly gratefull, and will do everything in my power to prove to each and every one of my future donator.
