The Aleister Robertson family fundraiser

Little Aleister went in for cleft palate repair surgery on October 26th. Although the surgery seemed successful, that night Aleister’s heart stopped. He was revived but is now battling necrotizing pneumonia, interstitial lung disease, and a bronchopleural fistula. Aleister is intubated and sedated while fighting for his life.

At only one year old, Aleister has faced many challenges due to his multiple birth defects including a cleft palate. He has had numerous surgeries already, including a jaw extension surgery which left him with partial paralysis on the left side of his face. Despite all that weighed against him he overcame and has been a happy, loving baby. Once he turned one, he had the surgery to correct his cleft palate which was supposed to go smooth and allow him to eat without his feeding tube. Ever since the surgery, Aleister, with his parents by his side, has been fighting for his life. Although everyday seems to bring a new discouraging battle, Aleister continues to fight while Ethan and Ashley remain strong. We must continue to be hopeful and pray that Aleister will make a full recovery.

Ethan and Ashley Robertson are loving and devoted parents who have continuously fought to help little Aleister overcome these difficult challenges that he has faced since birth. They regularly have to travel many hours away from home to a specialized hospital which forces Ethan to take unpaid time off of work. On top of this is the endless medical bills, money for travel, lodging, and food. Aleister has also required costly medical supplies for his feeding tube and at home oxygen. The financial burden this young, married couple is under is unbearable. Despite these challenges they are facing, they remain strong and hopeful for Aleister’s journey to a healthy life.
