One of our family members is in for the fight of his life. The past few months Russ had been having some problems with his lower back. He was trying to figure out what was going on by going to physical therapy and a chiropractor. After months of not improving and truly declining, most recently not being able to walk and was using a wheelchair, the doctors finally ordered an MRI and blood work. That MRI took place on a Saturday. They found out early in the week that he has tumor in his back along his spine has caused a vertebra to bulge and one to break. Initial diagnosis was bone cancer. On Wednesday the doctors called Jodie and Russ and told him to get to the hospital. Russ was admitted with kidney failure and lesions on his kidney. They did dialysis and he responded well to that-thank goodness. With all test results back, his diagnosis was changed to blood cancer. Russ spent 4 days in the hospital and started chemo right away!

As you all know, Russ is the type of person who always has your back, he would do anything in his power for anyone in need! It’s our turn to have his back!!

Russ has a long road ahead of him, but he is taking it on like true Russ fashion—all guns blazing and he is ready for the fight!!

Russ will be out of work while he fights this, and Jodie will be by his side to help do everything she can. This is a huge strain on their financial life. Jodie and Russ would never ask for help, so Shelby and I are asking for them!
