The amazing Renee Jones really needs our help

Someone who is loved by so many for the impact she’s had on so many people around her, an incredible human on so many levels, has been given news none of us ever want to hear ourselves, let alone anyone we love.

The big nasty C.

She is Mum to two boys Archie and Ollie and has an awesome, and supportive husband, Stephen.

In the coming weeks and months, Renee will have a double mastectomy and lymph node clearance, chemotherapy and likely radiation

This means Renee isn’t going to be able to work, however the bills will keep rolling in.

For those of you who don’t know Renee, she is one of the most phenomenal women many of us have ever met. Honest. Caring. Supportive of everyone she knows. Hard working. A genuine, real good egg!

Renee’s passion is health and wellness. She is a huge advocate and ambassador. She has enormous amounts of stress the last few years living in regional Victoria and owning a gym in what would be the toughest time ever for many small businesses which were considered non essential.

Let’s back track a little...

Business was going amazing, helping many people enjoy regular consistent exercise. Early mornings. Late evenings. She gave it her all!

Just before Covid hit, they relocated their gym premises. This meant initially increased expenses and overheads, and then, overnight the gym had to close due to the pandemic.

She and her business partner kept offering online sessions, and because of the exceptional human she is, Renee and her staff kept showing up for their clients even when the money stopped coming in, and expenses were more than they had ever been.

They open and shut more times than I can count, not to mention the excessive hoops to jump through as they navigated the constant changes.

Renee and her business partner then made the agonising decision to close permanently, and she recently started a new job at local council as a fitness team leader and fitness instructor.

After all of this, just as things were getting a little less stressful, she is now faced with the biggest fight of her life, where all of her focus needs to go into treatment and healing.

We all want to help but reality is, there isn’t much we can do, most of us can’t do much more than pray. Renee’s house is already full of beautiful flowers.

But the reality is - the big, big one is the financial stress where together, by lots of us giving a little, we can actually help a lot, and as a community we want to help reduce the financial burden.

Ideally, it would be so helpful to cover her expenses for the months ahead, until she is able to return to fully return to work.

Renee is grateful beyond measure for all the love and support she has already received.

She does ask for some space whilst she navigates the most stressful season of her life preparing for surgery, ongoing treatment and the unknown journey ahead.

Renee is so strong and determined, and she knows she is going to thrive through this and heal.

Renee really didn’t want this go fund me, but we convinced her to let us help, remove the financial stress in the short term and receive back in this season. This is a way for those of us who want to help.
