The Amazon Labor Union Solidarity Fund

The Amazon Labor Union (ALU) is a group of Amazon workers uniting to fight for better wages, working conditions, and benefits. It's no secret that Amazon puts profit above people, so we need to stand together if we're going to push back and change the company's priorities. Amazon workers at the JFK8 and LDJ5 facilities in Staten Island are ready to fight for our rights, and we need your support!
About the ALU
The Amazon Labor Union is an entirely worker-led movement. The organization was initially founded by Christian Smalls and other Amazon workers when Amazon refused to provide transparency about the COVID-19 cases in the warehouse and provide proper protective gear. Since then, the ALU has:
- won the first Amazon workers union in the United States at JFK8 in Staten Island
- pressured Amazon to reassess the implementation of their pre- COVID cell phone policy , which prevented employees from having access to their phones on the floor
- forced Amazon to address sexual harassment in the workplace
- prevented unjust firings and helped workers get back to their jobs at Amazon
- won the largest legal settlement in U.S. labor history defending workers' rights to organize (with our lawyer, Seth Goldstein)
- pressured Amazon to close the facilities during hazardous weather conditions to prevent another disaster like the one in Illinois
While we won our election at JFK8 by over 500 votes, Amazon is refusing to recognize the union. The ALU will continue to build by unionizing more Amazon warehouses across the U.S., building power within the JFK8 facility through a recognition campaign, and pressuring law-makers to pass pro-worker laws. Amazon is spending millions to stop ALU. However, as a grassroots organization, we don't have Jeff Bezos's millions to spend. All of our funding is from donors like you and other pro-worker organizations.
The win at JFK8 was just the beginning. We still have a long way to go before we can win a contract from Amazon. This is why we need your support now more than ever.
What will the donations be used for?
This money will fund campaign literature, transportation and travel costs, upkeep for our base of operations, meeting space, our website, union swag for the workers, organizer stipends, COVID relief, and food for workers during union meetings and break times.
We can't take on this Goliath without the support and solidarity of our community members. We can't do it without you!
