The Amsterdam Community Orchestra
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Ross, and I'm the founder of the Amsterdam Community Orchestra. We're a strings orchestra aimed at connecting musicians from all around the world through a shared passion for music. With your donation, we'll cover the cost of hosting 2 of our upcoming seasons (2022-23), ensuring that the orchestra is a truly community project - open to everyone.
Made a donation? Let us know and we'll invite you to our upcoming season concert.
History:
I started the orchestra in 2019 when I moved to the beautiful city of Amsterdam and wanted to build a platform on which I could meet new people and form connections. I had played music for many years as a child but hadn't had time to revisit it as my busy working career began. And so the idea of starting a strings orchestra was formed. After many months of recruiting, organizing (and convincing), I was able to host our first season - of which about 13 musicians joined.
Where we are today:
Today, we're a group of 25+ musicians and 2 conductors - who meet every other week to share a drink, rehearse and perform an annual community concert. We are completely self-funded, which means we split the costs of rehearsal venues, sheet music and musical equipment. With your donation, we will be able to ensure the orchestra is a truly community-orientated project, removing the need for registration fees and allowing each and every musician to join.
