My name is Angela Lynn and I am an inspiring Deaf, female Talk Show Host. I am a graduate of Gallaudet University and New York University (NYU). With your help, I hope to soon be the world’s first International, Deaf, female talk show host!

Have you ever been out of the country and watched television with English subtitles or captions? Have you ever watched a French, German or Spanish movie with subtitles or captions? Subtitles and captioned content are helpful but it’s just not the same as hearing it in your own language!

You may have not realized it, but millions of Deaf individuals experience this each and every day! Subtitled or captioned content can be very helpful when you can’t hear what is being said, but content is so much more enjoyable when you receive it in your first language.

That’s why I’m creating a television show to provide infotainment in ASL with captions and voice-overs. My television show is unique. We provide meaningful entertainment and information for Deaf people in their first language, American Sign Language (ASL). This allows us to enjoy the content in a deeper way. The Angela Lynn Show brings perspective and entertainment to not only Deaf and hard of hearing viewers, but also those without hearing loss.

On July 20-27, 2019 I want to attend the World Congress of the Federation of the Deaf Convention (WFD) in Paris, France. The WFD conventions happen once every four years. This international convention aims to "promote, protect and ensure" the dignity, equality before the law, human rights and fundamental freedoms of people with disabilities of all kinds. "The Angela Lynn Show has been selected by the WFD Organising Committee for media accreditation at this prestigious event."
I am seeking $35,000 to make this dream come true and impact the lives of others. This request will cover convention fees, travel costs (myself, interpreter, videographer), all production costs (taping, editing, captions with voice-overs and broadcasting fees for the show). This is an opportunity for the Deaf community to experience the convention from a member of their community. It is my opportunity to entertain, inspire and educate!
The Deaf “Who’s Who” from around the world will be at this event and this is an amazing opportunity to interview notable and inspiring Deaf individuals and people who have contact with Deaf individuals for my television show. I will capture stories, experiences and insights.

While on this journey in Paris, I will keep everyone up to date with photos and fun moments each day. When I return, it will be my honor to share this incredible experience and information with the Deaf and Hearing community around the world. www.instagram.com/TheAngelaLynnShow/
If you’re wondering about the validity of this project, let me say, we are living in the age of awareness when it comes to “Diversity” and “Inclusion”. Individuals from diverse backgrounds offer a selection of different talents, skills, and experiences. Language barriers and cultural differences can often act as a bit of an obstacle. At the end of the day, we are more alike than we are different. At this event we will have: 3000 Delegates in Attendance and 135 Nations Represented!

It is our goal is to provide meaningful content that will appeal to not only the nearly 70 million Deaf or hard of hearing worldwide, but also to about 30 million people have hearing loss in both ears, and 48 million Americans that have hearing loss in at least one ear.

About Me:
I lost my hearing when I was 6 months old. I have never allowed my deafness to be a barrier in my life. I have worked hard to help myself and others. I earned my BA in Education from world-renown Gallaudet University, and an MA in Deafness Rehabilitation from New York University (NYU). My perspective and insights stem from those educational resources - in addition to national and international travels that have connected me with people from around the world. I never meet a stranger. www.theangelalynnshow.com - www.instagram.com/TheAngelaLynnShow/

About The Angela Lynn Show:
My television show is distinctive. Itaddresses and promotes social inclusion among the Deaf community; which is especially important, since they are often socially excluded from society, or parts of society, as a result of being deaf. In addition, to focusing on Deaf issues the show creates an opportunity to educate and entertain hearing and hard of hearing viewers about the contributions and experiences of the Deaf.
The show brings perspective and entertainment to not only Deaf and hard of hearing viewers, but also those without hearing loss. In an age of reality shows and voyeurism, The Angela Lynn Show opens the door to create a unique environment that allows the viewer to experience an exquisite palate of entertainment, lifestyle and success.
