The Aspiring Cinematographer Fund

I'm James Oldham, a cinematographer based in Manchester, UK.

I am raising funds to provide aspiring cinematographers from deprived socio-economic backgrounds with a means to travelling into London (and back!) for events and screenings and cover the costs associated with becoming a member of the BSC Club for a year.

Where you live, shouldn't dictate what opportunities you are given.

Approximately £1000 is needed to cover the membership and travel costs for 1 person for 1 year (dependant on location in the UK). This includes approximately 8 journeys through the year to 8 events and a BSC Club membership for the year.

My initial aim is to raise enough to cover associated costs for 5 people from working class backgrounds in this way. Individuals will be selected by a panel of working cinematographers after an application process.

Being a part of these events is an important part in the development of aspiring cinematographers, both socially and professionally.
