Seven of Australia’s best butchers have been announced to form The Australian Butcher Team that will take on the world’s top butchers at the highly anticipated World Butchers’ Challenge (WBC) in March, 2025.
Held in Paris, The Australian Butchers’ team will compete against 14 other countries to be crowned the world’s best.
With members from South Australia, Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland, The Australian Team is a squad of skilled and accomplished butchers from Australia’s most prestigious butcher shops.
In addition, two young butchers and two butchers apprentices have been named to take part in the World Champion Butchers' Apprentice & Young Butcher Competitions - events that precede the World Butchers Challenge.
“We’re on a mission to make sure every Australian has heard of competition butchery before the team departs Australia for the WBC in March next year! Our goal? To go one better than the last World Butchers’ Challenge 2022 in Sacramento, and bring home the GOLD!” said Shannon Walker, Australian Butcher Team, Coach.
