The Autistic Chef with a Dream - Chef Addy

Making his voice heard through his love of cooking. Our family’s personal chef and hero is making all things possible!
His name is Addy Wesley Jr., aka: Chef Addy. He is a 20-year-old, nonverbal young man who has Autism. He was diagnosed with Autism at the age of 5 and has endured many of the challenges associated with being on the spectrum. However, Addy has been determined to triumph and it is through his love of cooking that he has found a path.
Inspired by Addy’s passion and creativity, a circle of loving supporters has created this GoFundMe to help turn his passion projects into a reality.
Addy’s loving supporters want to help him reframe “The FACE of AUTISM" through his love of cooking. This GoFundMe is the first step to making that happen.
Proceeds generated through this fundraiser will be used to assist Addy in further supporting his various cooking projects (entry into “The World’s Favorite Chef competition”, launching his own ghost kitchen, acquisition of cooking supplies and equipment for his YouTube channel that spotlights his yummy recipes with the world) along with his community outreach efforts.

Why Addy Wants to be “The World’s Favorite Chef”:
He wants to spend each day living in his passion - cooking. Earning this title would help him expand on using his cooking to express himself through
his amazing dishes filled with love, taste, and culture. In addition, and most of all, earning this title would help him make a difference by feeding those in need and reframing "The Face of AUTISM" by using his outlets to push back on the stereotypes associated with people on the Spectrum.

Cooking has always been an outlet and he has always spent time with his mother in the kitchen. But, more recently, Addy has branched out to sharing his gift of cooking on his YouTube channel and Instagram.

What Addy Plans to Do if He Wins the Competition?
Addy hopes to start an online ghost kitchen that provides ready to make meals. It is also a hope of Addy’s to use the success of the competition to
help him inspire and advocate for others with disabilities.
