The Avenue Nursing Home Fundraiser Walk
The Avenue Nursing Home staff are walking to raise money for Manorlands Hospice. We are walking 4 miles at Ogden Reservoir on Sunday 19th November.
Manorlands works closely with us to ensure patients and their families are getting the best care possible. We want to raise awareness for the fantastic work they do, which helps 100's of families each year. They provide palliative care and bereavement support, which is important for everyone. The Avenue have had communication with Manorlands since we opened and having a good relationship with local communities is vital. Any money raised will go towards:
- £20 could pay for a patient’s meals for the day in one of our hospices.
- £25 could help fund an hour of expert care and help fill another family’s final days with love.
- £60 could provide one complementary therapy session, such as massage, aromatherapy and reiki; these help improve feelings of well-being and alleviate symptoms such as anxiety, breathlessness, pain and feeling sick.
- £145 could help pay for a Sue Ryder Nurse, providing expert, compassionate care for a day.
