The continuation of The Bakehouse Market

Hi, Dawn and Alisha here, we are two sisters from Findhorn who have been given the amazing opportunity to take on The Bakehouse Market and Findhorn Bakery. We have both worked in the Bakehouse on and off since it opened its doors in 2006 and have been key members of the team, helping it become what it is today.

The founders of the Bakehouse, David and Jan, are now ready to pass it on. They see our passion and belief in what they have created and so are giving us the opportunity to take it on. We feel ready for this, and also equipped to take this beautiful local food market into its next phase and continue their legacy and ethos in providing organic whole foods to locals and further afield. We've left findhorn, travelled and gained experience, at times working together in restaurants and cafes half way across the world, both of us have worked in the hospitality industry our entire lives but have always found ourselves gravitating back to the Bakehouse and home.

The Bakehouse is a much loved establishment within the local area and has visitors from all over the world who come back year after year. Starting off as a cafe and bakery but more recently adapting into a food market to survive through the pandemic, we managed to keep our doors open.

We now supply local, organic and sustainably sourced produce aswell as our freshly baked breads, amazing coffee and treats and of course our small but delicious takeaway menu 7 days a week

For us, the Bakehouse has been a vital and integral part of growing up in Findhorn, teaching us the importance of healthy and wholesome foods, providing jobs and work experience for young people and supporting the local growers and producers around the country.

Any funds raised will go towards our initial purchase of The Bakehouse business and to assist us in maintaining the hard working and dedicated team, making the necessary updates to equipment and ensuring the excellent quality of our ingredients continues.
