The Bayou Restaurant needs Help.
Donation protected
The Bayou is a small Cajun Restaurant in Mount Vernon New York. We have been serving Darn Good Eats to the community for almost 29 years. The Bayou is also known as one of Westchester's best intimate live music venues. Hosting Local and National talent on a small stage with a 100 seat capacity.. Many amazing Blues, Zydeco, Cajun and Roots artists have graced our stage. The Radiators, Zachary Richard, Richie Havens, The subdudes, CJ. Chenier & the Red Hot Louisiana Band, Buckwheat Zydeco, John Hammond and so many others over our long history. As legendary guitarist Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown said his first time playing the Bayou." I've played some of the biggest venues in the world and now I can say I've played the smallest". What has kept the Bayou going strong all these years is the amazing food, hospitality and an overall comforting and eclectic atmosphere. Some of the staff, including the Chefs have been working their whole lives at the Bayou for 25 plus years The staff and customers are our family. The Bayou has been through some hard times over the years including a fire in 1993. But we rebuilt and came back stronger than ever. But this past year has been devastating and we are struggling to stay afloat with all the Covid-19 restrictions and the publics general fear of dining out. We have no outdoor dining space, and the bar and live music-scene is non-existent. We have struggled with take-out and limited indoor dining on and off, but survival in the next few months is uncertain as bills keep piling up. The Bayou needs help to get through this pandemic and pride be damned I am asking for help in these hard times to keep the business afloat and to keep the amazing staff employed so they can support their families as well. The funds will be used towards payroll rent and utilities and will be needed in the next 60 days . With your help we hope to be celebrating 30 years in business this coming Mardi-Gras in February. The entire Bayou staff would be truly grateful for any support you can give so we can continue to do what we do best. Make people happy and give them a warm comfortable getaway spot to enjoy some Darn Good Eats, and some damn good music. Thanks for reading. Laissez les bons temps rouler.
