The Bear Project

Hello, our names are Jim & Debra Lullie, grandparents of Bear James Nichols. Bear was born on September 26th, 2005 in Burbank, CA. Unfortunately Bear died as the result of an airplane crash in 2021 at the age of 15. He was a happy child and loved to entertain people even at his young age. As he entered his teen years Bear began performing for three theater companies in Albuquerque, NM. Bear was a natural performer and loved the theater. He had several leading parts as Peter Pan in Peter Pan Jr., Beast in Beauty and the Beast Jr., Nicely-Nicely Johnson in Guys and Dolls Jr., along with several other plays put on by The Cardboard Playhouse Theater Company. Debra, I, and the entire family told Bear that one day he would be on Broadway. After his death, some of his ashes were spread on Broadway.

Bear was a kind, loving and creative soul. Everyone who knew him loved him because of his sweet and caring nature. Shortly after his death the Cardboard Playhouse Theatre Company started a camp for childeren in his memory and the camp is free for children. The owners of the playhouse reported that fifty children signed up this year but only thirty-two were able to attend due to costs. We're hoping to raise enough money so all children who want to attend the camp will be able to do so in the future. All funds raised will be sent to the Cardboard Playhouse for The Bear Project.

Please join us in remembering our Grandson and supporting The Bear Project.
